Single, Painless ulcer with firm base = Syphilitic chancre.

Inj. Pencom 24 lacs IM x ATD (Benzathine Pencilin – long acting)

Send blood for V.D.Rl.L

If VDRL is positive, continue

Pencorm 24 lacs IM x every week x 3 injections.

Locally, clean and apply

TERRAMYCIN ointment x tds

If Patient is sensitive to Pencilin?

Tab. Erythromycin 500mg x 4 times/day x 4 weeks

Multiple, painful ulcers with slough = Chancrois

Beefy red ulcer with satellite nodules = Granuloma Inguinale

Inguinal bubo with healed. Active ulcer = Lymphogranuloma venereum

Tab. Norflox 400mg bd x 10 or

Tab. CIPLOX 500mg bd x 10

Tab. Erythromycin 500mg Qid x 15

Cap. TERRAMYCIN 500mg Qid x 15.

Locally, wash and apply TERRAMYCIN ointment.

If there is bubo,

Cap. TERRAMYCIN5400mg Qid x 30

Tab. Sugarnil 1 tds x 5 (Anti-inflammatory)

Formentation

If softening occurs, refer toa surgeon for incision.

If there has been a contact with the wife after the infection, treat the wife also. Otherwise infection will persist with the couple.

Advice HIV test for all patients with veneral diseases.
